The Flash is Barry Allen, a member of Keystone City’s forensics team. Barry has a masters degree in forensic sciences that he received on a scholarship to Keystone University. However, shortly before completing his masters he fell and shattered his femur during a one hundred metre sprint he was about to win; due to the injury Barry walks with a cane. During the lead up to the campaign Barry undergoes an experimental biochemical rejuvenation process at the behest of his uncle Jay Garrick. The process repairs Barry’s leg, and gives incredible powers. Garrick has also designed a suit that makes sure that Barry wont kill himself with own powers (make him immune to friction and related speed effects).
Jay Garrick created a suit in the 1970s that allowed its wearer to move with astonishing speed. He briefly wore it to stop a criminal enterprise that was after his experimental work. The suit was bright red with yellow accents.
